Fitting Virtual Lights For Non-Di use Walkthroughs
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes a technique for using a simple shading method, such as the Phong lighting model, to approximate the appearance calculated by a more accurate method. The results are then suitable for rapid display using existing graphics hardware and portable via standard graphics API's. Interactive walkthroughs of view-independent nondi use global illumination solutions are explored as the motivating application. متن کاملInteractive Walkthroughs and Higher Order Global Illumination
The subtle lighting effects, which can be simulated by global illumination, are important to make virtual worlds look realistic. Higher order global illumination methods, like Wavelet Radiosity, have proven to be very efficient, but do not directly lead to solutions that can be used by the hardware used to display walkthroughs. In this paper, we discuss methods to efficiently map these higher o...
متن کاملVirtual Barcoding using LATE-PCR and Lights-On/Lights-Off probes: identification of nematode species in a closed-tube reaction.
The present study describes a rapid, universal, easy-to-use, closed-tube, non-sequencing method that should also be able to uniquely identify almost any animal species on earth. The approach, called Virtual Barcoding, is illustrated using five species of nematodes from three genera. Linear-After-The-Exponential (LATE) PCR was used to amplify a portion of the CO1 gene for each of five commercial...
متن کاملRendering Silhouettes with Virtual Lights
We present a new method for obtaining non-photorealistic images. These images have two main visual components: silhouettes and non-realistic colouring. Silhouettes are lines that define the form of an object. They are used in classical animation and illustration as the main expressive components. In these applications, if it is necessary, colouring can be added once the drawings are made. For i...
